Pantone Huey Pro was defective July 18, 2010 J. Ellis (Portland, Oregon) I ordered a Pantone Huey Pro and installed it as per instructions. The results of the color calibration using the tool were totally skewed to the red tones. I deleted it, reset my monitor to the factory defaults, re-installed the Huey Pro and got the same results. After several tries, I complained to Pantone and they sent me a new Pantone Huey Pro that I installed yesterday. It seems to be working very well. As this problem has been reported by several users on this site and others, I guess my question to Pantone is why they don't test they're units before they send them out? Though the return process went very smoothly and the new unit is working well, I can't give it a great review because the first one was definitely defective.
Great Product July 14, 2010 Jason Morano (Wilmington, DE, US) Excellent product I would have given this 5 stars but i have a KVM switch setup so that i have one main monitor and each computer also has its own monitor. The problem i run into is that while calibration works perfect when i switch my main display to an off computer the software doesn't recognize this and the only way to fix it is to click the icon in the task-bar then exit the program, this makes the program realize the monitor is there and loads the profile for it.
Other then that i have not experienced any of the color tinting that others have said they had and i have calibrated over 4 monitors. The suction cups actually work very well given that your monitor is clean.
Relatively cheap for a reason July 3, 2010 Jason 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If this product sounds too good to be true for the price point, that's because it is. There's hardly anything "pro" about this; it would be underwhelming even if described as being primarily for hobbyists and consumers. Like most other people have noted, this product turns your screen pink. And in my case, it did much worse: it effected the gamma to a point where everything had a bleached out quality. I, and several others, strongly advise against this product and please heed my advice.
I have done my research, I have done everything correctly, and I have found forums and reviews were literally dozens of people have had the exact same problem. This product should be recalled. I know it has forever tarnished my view of Pantone and I'll never buy any of their products again. I will be returning this immediately and looking into better reviewed similar products.
Works great on 2 monitors June 9, 2010 Clay C. Smith (Chicago, IL) I have two LCD monitors (one old, one new) that pictures appear to have very different colors on. I tried to manually adjust them to look more similar, but gave up after spending almost an hour adjusting and readjusting the on-screen settings by hand.
Within half an hour after installing the huey pro both monitors were calibrated and the colors were spot on! Now I can use my photo editing software on either screen without worrying about the color differences. I also like the reminders for periodic re-calibration.
As others have noted, the tiny suction cups don't always hold the device to the screen, so I usually just hold a finger on it during the 60 seconds or so of calibration. Not a problem.
Easy to install & use! May 3, 2010 Melissa C. Rodriguez (Anaheim, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very happy with the ease of installation and results. I used a Spyder2Express previously and felt my color wasn't ever quite right. Now I am confident when I edit photos that what I see will be what I get!!
