Starcraft II in one word: Epic July 28, 2010 NJ Carolina There is not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I have spent plenty of time with the multiplayer in the Beta, and it was amazing. I thought I had pretty much seen the game, but once I fired up the campaign, I realized I hadn't seen anything yet! This time around, the campaign is very well done, and really advances the stroy so much more effectively. The cut scenes between each mission and the interactive Hubs are a very welcome addition since the original.
The multiplayer is top notch. Everything feels similiar, but perfect. Like, this is how it was meant to be done form the start! The achievement system is well done, and with the profile unlockables, doesn't make you feel like you are jsut competing for points.
I cna't say much else that isn't already covered, but trust me, the game is well worth every penny! A decade+ beyond the original Starcraft.
Lacking Features, incomplete game July 28, 2010 mlandsjr (Alexandria Va) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The developers seem to want to sell this game to people 3 times. This game only allows for single player Terran campaigns.
The real price for the complete game will eventually be $180. Poor form by Blizzard.
Fun but not $60 fun, maybe 30 July 28, 2010 JOHN GALAVIZ 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer but I do play a lot of video games, especially RTS titles. With that said, I am a big fan of the original Starcraft. I like the game play if Starcraft 2, but I don't see anything so innovative with the new title that explains why we are seeing a release in 2010 instead of 2005. I don't think it's worth the $60 price tag.
I also don't like having to log into Battlenet just to play the sinlge player campaign. This means if I'm somewhere where I can't get online, I can't play the game. Blizzard also removed LAN play, it's Battlenet or nothing, folks.
My verdict is an average game with the hassle of digital rights management = 2 stars.
Fantastic Game well worth it. July 28, 2010 William P. Maura (Chicago) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
If your looking for a AAA follow up to starcraft look no further.
The game has has fun quick gameplay and the graphics and new units are super polished and beautiful to look at. In particular the zerg look as menancing as they should be now.
The single player campaign, is such I completly understand why there giving each of the races there own expansion. Branching missions tons of story and video, lots of polish, to a working arcade game, character interaction and no missions really the same, I found my self wanting to play more and more to see what happens next.
The missions have achievaments on them , which made me play them through more then once to see if I could unlock them.
This is a very stand up game. Battle net worked for me fine I didnt win the match because I suck.
Dont see people issue with the lack of lan play though.
All in all if you loved starcraft you will love this, if you like scifi RTS get this, its a fantastic game
Great Game but some negatives July 28, 2010 T. QIN 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The game is great; however, the lack of LAN is very disappointing. Along with the need for expansions. That being said, the game is AWESOME.
