Product Description Reader Rabbit Kindergarten is an educational adventure game based on the characters from the popular and long-running series of learning games for young children Reader Rabbit. Intended for children ages 3-6 (the kindergarten age range) the game is designed to teach basic skills to prepare kids for success in kindergarten and provide a foundation for further learning. The game's main character Reader Rabbit and his sidekick Sam the Lion are flying their airship over a new island when they are mysteriously captured by a giant bubblewrap. They then come to realize they have landed in Balloon Town an island made of balloons where all sharp objects including their airship are locked away in a palace. In order to free their airship and continue on their journey they must first gain access to the palace by helping the band wake-up the sleeping bull in front of the palace. To do this they must gather the 5 different instruments for the band that have been scattered around Balloon Town. In order to receive an instrument players must help Reader Rabbit and Sam in a series of educational mini-games designed to teach kids basic skills such as memory recognizing patters simple math phonics rhyming following directions and placing items in order. All mini-games have simplistic point-and-click controls using the Nintendo DS touch screen interface. Once players have retrieved all of the instruments and gained access to the palace they must complete two more mini-games (a listening comprehension/sequencing game and a reading skills game) before gaining access to their airship so they can continue on to a new adventure. Unlike some other games of the genre this game is presented in a colorful cartoon style with short videos full voice acting and sing-along songs designed to engage young children while still teaching basic skills. Also unique to this game players will be able to adjust the difficulty level of all m

| Customer Reviews: Absolutely wonderful!!! April 8, 2010 C. C. McCoy (Alabama USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
My 6 yr old got this game for her birthday in Feb. and she and her 3yr brother play it all the time! They love it. I am so glad that there are actually educational games for the nintendo gaming systems. Now at least some of the time playing it will be educational. Thank you Reader Rabbit. I hope that Jump Start, Leap Frog and others will follow this example. These games are so much fun for the little ones.
Finally fun and educational game for my daughters DS! January 27, 2010 Mother of 2 girls (Pennsylvania) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
My 6 year old daughter has played reader rabbit on our home computer for 2 years now and really enjoys the games. All she wanted for Christmas 2009 was a Nintendo DS, I was very reluctant because so few truly educational games are available for it and I did not want to see her neglect her interest in practicing letters and simple addition etc in favor of playing her DS because it was fun. When I stumbled across this game I was so thrilled, I immediately purchased it and gave it to my daughter yesterday. She was barely able to put the DS down last night and it was the first thing she grabbed again this morning. Her little sister got a Leapster 2 for Christmas and they often exchange handhelds for fun, but since this game has come into the house she just does not want to share! She spent half of last evening telling me what she had just learned (simple math skills, ie; 3+1 is 4 mom!) She also made a point of telling me how much she liked her new game and thanked me. I don't know how many of you have 6 year olds at home, but an unsolicited thank you from one is a sign of true appreciation! I love to see my daughter excited about learning but having fun as well and this game provides both in spades. I hope to see more of these types of games in the future. I would really like to see the First Grade version come out before she starts first grade this fall. Yeah!
